Farmer, Washington

This is the first excursion I came on with Team Rust.  There were a few prior trips that the Team had made but I was new and began documenting our trips with photographs.  Details of the areas, towns, homesites and grave sites are not as detailed as we would have liked them be in these early visits but we knew our interests were peaked.

Map from Google Maps
Farmer is located in Douglas County at latitude 47.613 and longitude -119.812.  There isn't much left standing these days of what seemed to be an important stop along the route to the Cascade Mountains.  Remnants of an old hotel, Blacksmith shop and other buildings could be seen there at one time but now has mostly disappeared.

The photos in this entry were taken in December 2003.  We were new to this and having fun putting together our thoughts on what the town must have been like back in the 1800's.

George and Jeff holding up a piece of fallen board from the Blacksmith's building.  This building has since collapsed.

The Hotel.  It too has since collapsed.

We were not sure for what this building was used.  This view is looking north east towards the Cascade Mountain Range.

A really great find here.  An old receipt book.

A couple of Team Rust members; George and Steve.  The building in the background is the newer Farmer, Washington Grange building.  Just up the road from there is the Farmer Cemetery.

Team Rust member Jeff.  As you can see we definitely take this seriously.

An old barn building at a different location.
